I was jealous. God has continually closed the door on me in vocational ministry, whereas my wife was hired at every church we have ever attended. Right out of college, we envisioned entering ministry together, but it seemed God had different plans. My wife, as a worship leader, possessed a highly sought-after skill that most churches needed. On the other hand, with a business degree and some volunteer ministry experience, I found it more challenging to secure a vocational position. So, we pursued ministry together, with her in a full-time vocational role and me on a volunteer basis as I started a software company.  

But the contrast in our experiences was striking. I enjoyed the freedom to minister in ways that best served the community, while she had to prioritize the church's organizational needs. The combination of low pay, long hours, and organizational stress eventually led to burnout. When we decided to start a family, we knew we needed a change. To address this, I helped my wife establish Worship Serve, leveraging her ministry skills and network in a way that allowed flexibility around our family life. Now, we both serve in ministry at our church without being financially dependent on it.

Since making this shift, we've come to see our approach more closely aligned with how Paul conducted his ministry and are eager to support others in doing the same.
